Indexing Watchdog

Daily indexing checks on every published article — get alerted when a page drops out, and resubmit in one click.

How it works

Every day AlmaSEO checks the indexing status of every article you've published, across every site you manage. If one that was indexed disappears, you're alerted — in the app, or in Slack if you'd rather. If a new one still isn't indexed after twenty-one days, it's flagged as stalled. Either way you resubmit from the post itself: URL Inspection to Google, IndexNow to Bing, one click. Monday's digest carries the week's indexing problems across the whole book.

Typical daily workflow

How teams actually run Indexing Watchdog day to day.

  1. Every day AlmaSEO checks the indexing status of every article you've published, across every client
  2. An article that was indexed and has since dropped out raises a deindex alert — in-app, or in Slack
  3. An article still not indexed after twenty-one days is flagged as stalled
  4. You open the post and resubmit — URL Inspection to Google, IndexNow to Bing
  5. The next day's check confirms whether it took
  6. Monday's digest carries the week's indexing problems across the whole portfolio

Frequently asked questions

Which pages does it watch?
Every article you've published through AlmaSEO. The content pipeline knows exactly what it shipped and when, so those URLs are the ones it keeps checking — the pages most likely to be sitting unindexed without anyone noticing.
How fast will I know?
The check runs daily, so a page that drops out of the index surfaces the next morning rather than in next quarter's traffic report. The indexing data comes from Search Console, so AlmaSEO knows as soon as Google says so.
What does resubmitting actually do?
It sends the URL to Google through the URL Inspection API and to Bing through IndexNow, from the post itself. It's a request for a recrawl, not a guarantee of indexing — if the page is thin or duplicative, the honest fix is the page, and the audit will tell you that.
What does "Crawled — currently not indexed" mean?
Google fetched the page, read it, and decided not to index it. It isn't a bug and there's no button that fixes it: Google is telling you the page didn't earn a slot. Resubmitting a page in that state usually changes nothing. What helps is knowing which of your pages are sitting in it — AlmaSEO flags an article that's still unindexed twenty-one days after publishing, so you can fix the page rather than keep waiting on the crawler.
Do you submit new pages automatically?
Yes. The moment WordPress publishes a URL, it goes to Bing through IndexNow — no button, no checklist. The daily check then confirms whether it actually landed in the index, which is the part everyone skips.
